Lt General T.Y. Danjuma (Rtd) GCON - Chairman

Lt. Gen. T.Y. Danjuma (rtd) is the Chairman, Board of Directors of Union Dicon Salt Plc. He also serves as Chairman of various companies including South Atlantic Petroleum Limited, T.Y. Holdings Limited and Comet Shipping Agency. He sits on the Board of numerous companies including May and Baker Nigeria Plc., Friesland Food WAMCO Nig. Plc. and Unit Trust Insurance Company Limited.
He began his military career in 1960, serving in the Nigerian Army for about two decades and retiring at the rank of Lieutenant General in 1979. He was the Chief of Army Staff between 1975 and 1979, and later became the Honourable Minister of Defence from 1999 to 2003.
He attended Nigerian Military Training College, Kaduna (1960); Mons Officers Cadet School, Aldershot, United Kingdom (1960 – 1961); School of Infantry, Hythe & Warminster, United Kingdom (1962); Special Warforce Centre, Fort Bragg, USA (1963) and Army Staff College, United Kingdom (1967).
Married with five children, General Danjuma has been conferred with a number of national and international honours and titles. He was awarded the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON in 1979; Honorary Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration by University of Liberia in February, 1990; Honorary degree of Doctors of Letters, Benue State University in February 1997. He has also received National Honours from the Republic of Somalia, Benin Republic, Poland and France.

 

Major General E.R. Chioba - Director

General Chioba is the current Director General (DG) of the Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria (DICON), a role he assumed in February 2013.
He was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Nigerian Army in 1983 and has risen to the rank of Major General (2011). Gen. Chioba attended various courses in the Army including Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Company Commanders Course, and has served in different units.
He has a diploma in Telecommunications from the University of Ibadan (1986), bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University (1987) and a masters’ degree in Defence and Strategic Studies (2008).
Maj. Gen. Chioba has received the following honours and awards: Distinguished Service Star, Pass Staff College (+), Chief of Army Staff Commendation Award for the design and manufacture of the indigenous Armoured Personnel Carrier, and Fellow Defence College

 

Mallam Aliu Ismaila - Director

Mallam Aliu Ismaila has since 2013 been the Permanent Secretary, Political & Economic Affairs to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. Prior to then he was a Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Police Affairs (2012). He started his career as a Mortgage Officer with Federal Mortgage Bank from which he was appointed into the Federal Civil Service.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (Economics) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1980.

 

Colonel  Henry Mgbemena (Rtd) - Director

Colonel Mgbemena serves as acting Managing Director and Executive Director for Production, of Union Dicon Salt Plc. He is also the Chairman of Henric Logistics Services Limited. He enlisted into the Nigerian Army as a Cadet I 1979. During his service in the Army, he held various appointments such as Director of Ammo-HQ NAOCs, and CDOS – HQ 2nd Division, Ibadan. He retired as a Colonel.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from University Nigeria, Nsukka (obtained in 1977), and a Post Graduate Diploma Certificate in Management from the University of Calabar (2002).

 

Engr. Kayode Mukandas Eriktola - Director

Engr Erikitola serves a Director, Union Dicon Salt Plc. In the past, he was a Director of the Nigerian Airport Authority. He worked in the Lagos State Civil Service and was Chief Maintenance Engineer of Murtala Mohammed Airport in 1978. He was a Director of the Nigerian Airport Authority in August 1986 from where he voluntarily retired from the Civil Service in 1990.
Engineer Eritola attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a BSc degree in Civil Engineering in 1969. He also acquired a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from Sheffield University, United Kingdom between in 1971. He had his Senior Management Course at the Ashridge Management College in the UK in 1981 before going to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Jos in 1984.

 

Lt. Colonel T.O Miri – Dashe (Rtd) - Director

Lt. Colonel Miri-Dashe serves as a Director, Union Dicon Plc. He also sits on the Board of Bonny Allied Industries Limited, Oiltech Nigeria Limited, Neptune Nigeria Limited, T.Y. Ventures Limited and Best Trade Nigeria Limited. He was admitted to the Nigerian Defence Academy and commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in 1975. Lt. Col Miri-Dashe retired from the Nigerian Army at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 1995, after which he was appointed Assistant Director of Sports in the FCT, Abuja in 1996.
He is an Alumnus of Lagos Business School having graduated in 1998.

 

Mr. Bekuochi Nwawudu - Co-MD / CEO

Mr. Nwawudu has over 19 years’ experience in investment banking, proprietary trading, and principal investing with a focus on Mezzanine products.  Starting in 1994 in London at ING Barings as a Convertible Debt Analyst, he was promoted quickly to understudy on the US$200m proprietary trading book.  In 1998 he moved to Daiwa Europe SFU as a Senior Manager, there a three man team ran a US$600m convertible book that included asset swaps, and derivatives.  After a spell at BGC Partners and desirous of a return to Nigeria, he joined First City Monument Bank as SVP, Head of Fixed Income in 2006. There he developed the bank’s Bond trading business and debt capital markets team within the award winning Capital Markets business. 
Mr Nwawudu has a degree in Economics from St John’s College, Cambridge University and an MBA from London Business School.  He is a Founder and Director of CBO Capital Partners. In the last five (5) years has been jointly responsible for servicing over 100 mandates, investing USD50.1million, developing the firm’s current transaction pipeline, and institutionalising world class investment / management processes

 

Mr. Chuka Mordi - Co-MD / CEO

Mr. Mordi has over 18 years’ experience in investment banking, & research. He began his career as an Equities Analyst at SBC Warburg, before moving to Hardman & Co. Ltd. where he focused on UK AIM stocks.  At InterSec Research Corp. he was on the Global Investment Management Research Team for Europe (UK) & the Far East (Japan & Singapore). At Societe Generale Asset Management (SGAM) UK, he covered European Emerging Market Equities and worked on Asset Allocation and Economic analysis.  After a period at Nex-Rubica as Director Corporate Finance & Advisory Services, Mr Mordi moved to Nigeria – initially as Head of Infrastructure Financing at First City Monument Bank before his current position as a Director of CBO Capital Partners.
In the last five (5) years, Mr. Mordi has been jointly responsible for servicing over 100 mandates, investing USD50.1million, and developing the firm’s current transaction pipeline. He has a BA (Hons) Philosophy from Kings College’ University of London.

 

Mrs. Florence S. Iroye - Company Secretary

Mrs. Iroye currently serves as the Company Secretary of Union Dicon Plc. In the past, she held various positions in the legal department of companies including Lateef Adegbite & Co, Usman & Elema Solicitors and Media Right Agenda.
She graduated with a law degree from University of Ilorin (1994-in 1999), after which she attended the Nigerian Law School between 1999 and 2000. She has over 12 years of experience as a legal practitioner.
